TWENTY21COLLECTIONS/GALLERY RODIN Exhibition: Guy Robinson - 'Letters From The Mind's Journey' February 2008
|
Exhibition Statement
As an artist I try to listen to the messages (the letters) I receive
inside, shape them, and pass them on. I try not to judge them but to
express them clearly. The intention is always clarity. The outcome is
always mystery. It is the artist's job to make the mysteries more clear.
Perhaps the questions they bring are the answers. The small
victories are found in listening carefully and honestly to the
whispered possibilities of who we are. Anything else is a contrivance.
I give my students what I call my 'Directions For Making A Painting':
#1- Develop your skills to be ready. #2- Come to it empty. #3- See
what happens. We all want explanations of life. Life gives us poetry.
Don't blame me...I only work here.
